Highlighted Events

On April 29, 2025, DEM Chi Chapter hosted their first Benefit Concert to raise awareness and support our affiliated nonprofit, the DrEaM Network, which funds summer camps for children with medical needs. Thank you to our Director of Philanthropy, Jake Bright, and our President, Aishwarya Vadivel, for making this event possible. We’re also incredibly grateful to everyone who attended, donated, and preformed including Youthphonics, Awechords, Amia Dauis, Hasitha Guhan, and Chianie.

DEM Chi Chapter is very fortunate to volunteer with NMDP Be The Match every quarter. Our active members help collect samples and add 360+ UCLA students to the registry for future peripheral blood stem cell (PBSC) and bone marrow donations! Huge thanks to the UCLA Be The Match Chapter.

Future Philanthropic Involvements

1. belmont senior village

Oak Park IL Assisted Living - Belmont Village Senior Living logo.jpg

Located in Westwood, Belmont Village houses many seniors, many of whom have dementia or other cognitive impairments. Throughout the quarter, we visit and spend the day with them, playing games or engaging in other activities. We become their friends and aim to make their days a little better. Our members enjoy coming back and seeing the same familiar faces!

Ronald McDonald Houses located throughout Southern California help families stay close to their child when they need treatment for a serious medical condition. The house provides a home-like setting, close to the region's top hospitals, where families can stay free-of charge for as long as necessary.

3. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Rental System at UCLA

This rental system targets our fellow UCLA peers in STEM who lack the resources and or experience financial burdens in courses that require specific lab equipment. Students are required come to class with lab equipment (i.e: lab goggles, lab coats, and lab notebooks) but are responsible for collecting these resources on their own).  This new system starting Fall 2023-24 school year, we are prepared to help as many UCLA students as possible through this rental system, free of cost. Rentals open up every quarter and students are expected to return the equipment when the course is over. Every quarter, DEM will add more lab coats (hopefully through funding) to the initial PPE to generate a larger rental base system.

4. UCLA’s DEM x UCLA’s Mobile Clinic Project (MCP) Clothing Drive

Delta Epsilon Mu has partnered with UCLA’s Mobile Clinic Project to assist unhoused individuals through clothes insecurity. We will be hosting a clothing drive in hopes to encourage UCLA students to donate any warm item of clothing that will be washed and distributed to those experiencing homelessness. We will filter out the clothes received and clothing items that won’t be utilized, we will turn into a “thrift shop” like event for UCLA students to purchase on campus at a low cost.
